The Green Lantern in Japan

Someone elected to paint this lantern green and write their own message. It’s kind of rare to see this sort of "artistic" lantern as most are generic in some fashion. I thought it was fun and different as lanterns go in Japan.

Light by Design

Light by Design showcases the lighting effects that can be found lanterns as a result of the sun casting shadows. I took many photos like this and found some really terrific light design. I thought it provided an added touch to the photography.

Tanbo Rice Field Japan

The word tanbo means rice paddy in Japanese. This is my father-in-law’s tanbo located in Nagano-city Japan. It is quite large and together we plant and harvest the rice crop each year.
